The biomechanics research group of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering (IDMEC) is a multidisciplinary team of research fellows, including faculty, post-doctoral research associates, and PhD and MEng students.
Considering experimental and computational approaches, our main research interests include the musculoskeletal modelling and simulation of human movement, prosthetic devices, and bone and soft-tissue deformation.
Using the acquired fundamental insights, we aim to influence clinical decision-making and improve current treatment strategies.
